The Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Quality Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of incoming materials and components by verifying their compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements. You will play a critical role in maintaining product quality, supporting inventory accuracy, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming materials, parts, and components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, material specifications, and purchase order requirements. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering documents to verify conformance to dimensional, material, and finish specifications. Document and report nonconforming materials (NCMs) using appropriate quality systems and workflows. Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to resolve discrepancies and support root cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain accurate, detailed inspection records, including test results, traceability documentation, and inspection reports. Operate a variety of standard inspection tools and equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), as applicable. Verify part counts, labeling, and documentation during the receiving process to support inventory control and ensure accurate material flow. Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance inspection processes, quality standards, and overall product reliability. Support internal audits, customer inspections, and other compliance-related activities as needed. Perform additional inspections and quality-related tasks to support production and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in quality inspection or manufacturing technology. Minimum 5 years’ experience related experience and/or training. Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance, due to contract requirements. Strong understanding of inspection techniques and familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using quality management systems (QMS). Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desired:
Experience using CMMs and related inspection software. Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems. Experience in the aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing industries.
