Recently, CPT expanded its capabilities with a 6 KW Fiber Laser, 14′ Press Brake and a Timesaver. Machine Operator We are looking for skilled machine operators to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will be producing precision parts using both manual and CNC machines. A great operator needs to possess manual dexterity and a good eye for detail. They must have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures.
Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of a Waterjet, Fiber Laser, Press Brake, and other related equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate good time management skills, attention to detail, and be able to follow instructions. The Machine Operator will be responsible for the quality of the product they produce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform quality inspections on incoming material Maintain work area, including cleanliness of equipment and tools, and all equipment and tools used in the production process. Ensure that all tools are properly stored, cleaned, and secure in a safe manner at all times. Perform routine maintenance on machine and equipment Follow work instructions provided and complete work order documentation Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping Check output to ensure consistency with specifications Follow all safety procedures and requirements per OSHA, and local regulations at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Experience
Proven experience as a machine operator Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (Waterjets, Lasers, Bridgeport, CNC Press Brake) Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers or micrometers) to take accurate measurements Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals Proficient in math and strong analytical skills Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items regularly Fork lift / Pallet jacks Education – High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one year related experience preferred; none required. Technical training preferred.’
