Summary:
Has responsibility for assisting, performing and participating in quality related activities. This is hands-on mechanical inspection and visual auditing. The right candidate will be trained on the use of inspection tools and techniques.
Duties:
- Preform first article, in process and receiving inspections. This will include the use of inspection tools and techniques required to assure items conform to print and specifications.
- Report failures and rejected materials, working with departments to determine cause and correction of non-conforming product.
- Conduct testing of finished assemblies, along with customer-returned parts, for function and condition before returning to or entering stock.
- Internal Auditing. This will include following process procedures periodically inspecting stock and logging results. Then working with the Quality Assurance Manager correcting non-conformances.
- Data collection for quality metrics as requested.
- Assist in process procedure creation and improvement. This will include working with engineering, managers and operators. Documenting detailed explanations of the manufacturing steps of how the process is carried out.
- Willing to learn new skills.
This position requires an energetic and inquisitive initiative.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High School Diploma
- Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Knowledge of Calipers, standard and 3-point Micrometers
- Strong understanding and interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerancing GD&T
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Must speak, write and understand English
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- Technical School/College degree
- SYSPRO software
- Specification interpretation
