Job Description

  • Quality Control Inspector
  • Job Description:
  • Are you passionate about precision and quality? Join our team as a Quality Control Inspector, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the excellence of our parts and products. You’ll conduct thorough inspections, prepare detailed reports, and drive continuous improvement, all while ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Responsibilities:

Inspect Parts:

Conduct inspections on work-in-progress (WIP), inbound, and outbound parts to ensure top-notch quality. +

First Article Reports:

Prepare comprehensive First Article Reports to validate initial production runs. +

Detailed Reporting:

Create accurate and detailed reports of all Quality Control inspections, results, corrective actions, preventive actions, trend analyses, and compliance with contract requirements. +

Effective Communication:

Utilize technical narratives, graphs, charts, spreadsheets, photographs, and other means to effectively convey Quality Control results to management. +

Quality KPIs:

Establish and manage Quality KPIs to drive continuous improvement in all aspects. +

Track KPIs:

Create and manage reports to monitor internal and external KPIs. + Total Cost of Quality (TCQ): Lead the measurement of TCQ and identify opportunities to reduce it.

Experience:

Minimum of seven years in a quality role, with significant time in Quality Engineering or Quality Manager positions. +

Manufacturing Expertise:

Experience in high-volume metal fabrication manufacturing operations. +

Standards Knowledge:

Familiarity with ISO-9000 and AS9100 systems. +

Inspection Skills:

Ability to perform in-process and final inspections using calipers and micrometers. +

Technical Proficiency:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Education:

BS in Engineering or a related field preferred. +

Industry Knowledge:

Experience in mass production metal fabrication and sheet metal industry. +

Quality Tools:

Working knowledge of core quality tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA & PPAP, CAPA). +

Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience in driving corrective actions (e.g., 5 why, Root Cause Analysis, 8D). +

Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. +

Clerical Skills:

Strong clerical skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and document critical information. +

Detail-Oriented:

Detail-oriented and capable of driving timely resolution to issues.

Work Environment:

Our machine shop operates Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 7 am to 11 am. You’ll work on the manufacturing floor with punching and stamping machines, and personal protective equipment such as eye and hearing protection is required.

  • The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
