About This Role:
Dayton-Granger, Inc.is seeking aReceiving Inspectorto join our Quality team inFort Lauderdale, FL.In this role, you’ll be responsible for checking incoming parts and materials to ensure they meet required standards. You’ll review supplier paperwork, inspect items using hand tools, and help keep our production team running smoothly. If you have experience in receiving or inspection within a manufacturing environment and enjoy working with both people and processes, this could be a great long-term fit. Prior aerospace experience is helpful, but not required.
What You’ll Do as a Receiving Inspector
- Inspect incoming parts, materials, and hardware for accuracy and quality
- Review supplier documentation (packing slips, certifications, test reports) for completeness and compliance
- Compare parts against blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other tools to verify dimensions
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of materials received
- Record inspection results clearly and accurately in internal systems
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Support other team needs as assigned
- Follow all company safety policies and proceduresRequirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of experience in receiving, inspection, or a related manufacturing role
- Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Able to read and understand packing slips, basic blueprints, and specifications
- Detail-oriented with good record-keeping and organizational habits
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PDFs); ERP experience is a plus
- Effective communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Physically able to lift up to 25lbs and perform visual tasks (color, depth, clarity
- Speak, Read, and understanding English is requiredPreferred (Nice to Haves)
- Prior experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards
