Full Job Description Job Summary:

Rearden Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our products through meticulous inspections and adherence to established quality procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Maintain equipment associated with the quality inspections of production work.
  • Follow quality procedures and communicate discrepancies to supervision.
  • Notify management of any shortages, quality issues or repairs needed to any inspection equipment.
  • Operate the computer software programs associated with quality inspections.
  • Equipment expected to be utilized can include: o Calipers o Micrometers o Height gages o Profilometer o Pin gages o Dial indicators o Coordinate measuring machines o Hardness testers o Various other precision measuring devices to perform simple to complex inspection operations.
  • Work from applicable drawings, specifications, bubble drawings, first article inspection reports, work instructions, vendor instructions or other documentation using inspection tools and gages.
  • Visually inspect the condition of material and or parts.
  • Clearly define nonconforming conditions noting, engineering requirements, “as is” condition and variation from nominal. Prepare rejection documentation.
  • Report any unusual circumstances, conditions or defective material to supervisor or shift lead.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating results with the shop floor.
  • Collect representative samples from each production line and perform the required test and/or evaluations to assure that the product meets product specifications.
  • Contain nonconformance raw and finished product as stated in work procedure manual.
  • Perform and approve first articles after changeovers and line start-ups as stated in in work procedure manual.
  • Document all test and/or quality evaluations and abide by the various operational procedures as spelled out in the in-work procedure manual.
  • Ensure that all testing equipment is calibrated as needed; calibration to be completed via us of a calibration gauge, or other equipment as needed.
  • Maintain required records and files in a neat and auditable manner.
  • Know the quality system, buy-off procedures, AQL, peer review inspections and how to record entries.
  • Perform internal audits.
  • Train production and administration personnel to the quality standards
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
  • Keep your area clean and organized. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Technical Certification preferred 2-5 years of experience preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Capability to identify the root causes of quality issues.
  • Capacity to analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions based on data and evidence.
  • Strong focus on detail and accuracy in performing inspections, documenting findings, and reporting results/
  • Skill in interpreting data from inspections, tests, and quality control processes to make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly and report inspection findings accurately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams to address quality issues .
  • Efficiently manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized inspection records, reports, and documentation. Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work in a machine shop environment with exposure to loud noises and machinery.
  • Good vision or corrected vision to perform detailed visual inspections,
  • Good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small parts and using precision measuring instruments.
  • The ability to perform tasks consistently and accurately over time. Compensation and Benefits

$15-19
