QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Safety administration, Public Policy, Communications, Management Information Systems, Project Management, or closely related field.

Five (5) years of experience in policy, legal, or technical writing. Key ResponsibilitiesAssists staff in the processing and interpretation of documents for accreditation. Assists with monitoring, evaluating, suggesting and implementing needed changes and continuous quality improvement to develop, write, revise and maintain the Department’s catalog of policies and forms to meet accreditation standards; maintains accreditation files; and conducts regular reviews of policies and procedures to meet all Commission on Accreditation requirements.

Assists staff in the processing and interpretation of documentation for the Insurance Service Office (ISO). Assembles, compiles, compares, and analyzes collected information to maintain or improve the current ISO grade.

Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop, draft, and revise clear and concise policy documents that effectively communicate complex information.

Develops and modifies existing policies and guidelines to adhere to current documentation standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, Florida Statutes).
