Quality Assurance Technician (Overnight) 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Miami, FL 33169 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This position involves conducting quality inspections, performing audits, and utilizing various precision measuring instruments to maintain our commitment to excellence. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the company’s food safety and quality plans and oversee the operation of the Food Safety and Quality System (SQF) across all company processes. Duties Ensure that quality and food safety programs, policies, regulations, and procedures are followed and kept up-to-date. Deploy the Quality Manager as a substitute intern according to regulatory requirements, the certification body’s requirements, and the SQF Code. Update SQF systems and food safety plans as requirements/rules and product lines change. Assist with the annual reassessment of the SQF system and food safety plan. Liaise with regulatory, client, internal, and third-party audits. Conduct internal audits (glass and brittle plastic, GMP, pest control, food defense, allergen control, label verification, receiving, etc.). Provide general oversight of GMP programs and Food Safety Fundamentals in day-to-day operations. Coordinate the annual administrative review of the entire SQF system. Ensure verification and validation activities of the Food Safety and Management System to ensure effective compliance. Coordinate and/or perform the necessary equipment calibrations. Take appropriate measures to maintain the integrity of the product’s Food Safety Management System whenever deficiencies are identified or changes are made to the system. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, review, storage, and access of regulatory and food safety documentation, as well as the company’s various processes, with the prior approval of the Quality Manager. Participate in the certification process and ensure that the required certifications are maintained. Responsible for scheduling monthly meetings with those responsible to discuss updates or changes that impact the maintenance and implementation of the SQF system. Serves as part of the Food Defense Team, the Market Recall Team, the Crisis Management Team, and the HACCP Team. Coordinates and supervises the Food Safety Plan program, administering the HACCP Plan and its prerequisites. Coordinates staff training in HACCP and its prerequisites. Supervises the execution of cleaning plans and programs, monitoring the execution of the master cleaning plan and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP). Develops and implements cleaning procedures for all plant equipment. Supervises Integrated Pest Management activities, conducting internal reviews, and working with contracted services to prepare fumigation, fogging, and residual application plans. Conducts and verifies pre-operational inspections. Maintains and improves the allergen control program. Maintains traceability records. Replace the Quality Analyst’s duties on different shifts, if necessary, in the event of unforeseen or planned absences, inspecting products from different lines to verify compliance with specifications, as well as performing other duties. Support and collaborate on the various projects and activities required by Quality Management that contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives.
