OVERVIEW
Our manufacturing company is filling the role of Quality Tech I. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager and will be responsible for all quality activities on their respective shift. This includes, but is not limited to final product quality, machine downtime, and reject escalation. This role will also be pivotal in correcting Operators and reinforcing quality standards on the production floor. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate to the shift supervisor about machine reliability, reject drivers and operator performance. This position serves a critical role in the Tellus Products Quality program and will be responsible for quality reports.
DETAILED ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Routinely inspect the final product for defects
Communicate issues to supervisor to identify root cause for defects and communicate corrective action to operator and supervisor
Maintain presence on production floor
Communicate, train, and reinforce quality standards to Operators
Be able to report on quality issues that require machines to go down for cleaning/maintenance
Report on rejecting drivers per production machine on each shift
Oversee the removal and placement of rejects in quarantine / hold area.
Oversee quality control sampling and testing
Respond quickly to issues reported
Assisting Quality Manager in document filing and review
Provide detailed report on each production machine at the end of each shift, Verify all paperwork
Maintain board in production office
Utilize good manufacturing practices and ensure work is complete to required standard
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and identifies hazards that may arise
Follow all health and safety rules and regulations
Any other tasks required from time to time may be assigned
Expected to perform critical tests in the lab in the absence of other Quality team members
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Must be 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred 1 year of quality experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must have quality first mentality
Be flexible, reliable and well organized
Must have root cause investigation & reporting skills
Have personal integrity and the drive to do what is best
Ability to learn quickly
Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office
Work and disciplinary record will be considered
Good verbal, reading, writing and basic math skills
Physically able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching and pulling.
