Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cable Inspector / Quality Control Technician to ensure the highest standards of cable manufacturing through rigorous visual and mechanical inspections. You will use precision measuring tools, interpret technical documents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform visual and mechanical inspections of in-process and completed cables using blueprints, diagrams, micrometers, scales, and fixtures. Accept, reject, or rework units based on compliance with
IPC-A-620
standards, customer specifications, and internal checklists. Identify and document non-conformances and communicate effectively with assemblers, engineers, and management to resolve issues. Assist with assembly tasks in assigned inspection areas as needed. Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor quality trends. Maintain proficiency in interpreting drawings, parts lists, IPC manuals, and revision-controlled documents.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
Prior inspection experience in cable manufacturing (soldered/crimp inspections per
IPC-A-620
required).
Technical Skills:
Ability to use measuring devices (dial indicators, micrometers, etc.). Proficient in reading blueprints, work instructions, and technical diagrams. Familiarity with PCs and standard software applications.
Soft Skills:
Strong written/verbal communication and teamwork abilities. Diplomatic problem-solving with assemblers, engineers, and customers.
Physical Requirements:
Pass a medical screening exam (per supplier guidelines). Ability to stand for extended periods and handle small components.
Education:
No degree required – experience prioritized.
