Quality Assurance Technician 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Saint Petersburg, FL 33702 Quality Assurance Technician – St. Pete, FL 2nd or 3rd Shift – Immediate Opportunity! An exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at our Saint Petersburg, FL manufacturing facility. As a member and representative of the Quality Assurance department, this individual’s primary function is to perform 100% quality inspections on product for customer shipments and support Manufacturing Operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform functional quality tests on material accurately, and in a timely and efficient manner. Record and report result of inspections, failure analysis, material discrepancies, and defect data using SAP, and other related databases as needed. Perform detailed visual inspection of material to determine product quality where limits may not be clearly defined. Appropriate timely and efficient movement and disposition of material and movement of acceptable product into use. Coordination with Production line technicians and/or supervisors when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits / specifications or when nonconformances are noted. Make recommendation on disposition of questionable product. Data collection, analysis, and creation of presentation material for metric reporting and trending. Perform root cause failure analysis and disposition of returned material. Creation of work instructions for inspection and product / process improvements. Work with suppliers / vendors to ensure that quality components are being shipped. Act as a liaison between Quality and other functional departments.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Good to proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. Good organizational, listening, and verbal / written communication skills with demonstrated ability to follow instructions and processes. Able to be proactive and self-motivated. Knowledge of Quality concepts and terminology such as
ISO 9000.
Basic understanding of engineering and manufacturing terminology and processes. Proficiency in quality inspection practices, technique, and use of handheld gages. Able to comprehend engineering drawings and specifications. Able to interact and communicate with all levels of staff.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED Minimum 1 year of experience within manufacturing/production/quality environment Attention to detail Good communication skills Can work in a Team Environment and autonomously
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree or Quality/Mechanical/Electrical Technician Certification Experience with Calipers and Measuring Devices Knowledge of SAP.
Work Environment:
Required to lift a minimum of 40lbs. Ability to have a wide range of movement to be able to move material within facility. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
