Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Seeking detail-oriented and highly skilled Metrologist to join our manufacturing team. The Metrologist will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and calibration of measurement instruments and equipment used in the production process. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, supporting process improvements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate, maintain, and repair measurement instruments and equipment.
Develop, implement, and maintain calibration procedures and processes.
Perform precision measurements on manufactured components to ensure compliance with specifications.
Analyze measurement data to identify trends and potential quality issues.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve measurement discrepancies.
Create and maintain calibration records, certificates, and related documentation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer requirements.
Train and support staff in proper measurement techniques and equipment usage.
Recommend and implement improvements in measurement and calibration processes.
New Product Development:
Work with engineers to create in-process material expectations
Develop initial inspection routines

Requirements Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in metrology, quality assurance, or a similar role.
Proficiency with measurement tools and equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
Knowledge of calibration standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and metrology software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or equivalent certification.
Experience with CNC machining and/or EDM processes.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
