Quality Lab Technician Hyundai Transys Georgia Seating System, LLC – 3.2 Savannah, GA Job Details Full-time $22.30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Laboratory experience Calipers Mid-level GD&T Micrometer Coordinate measuring machine Full Job Description Summary Supports the foam pad line and seat assembly line by performing tests as required. Most of the testing involves durability simulation of vehicle interior conditions. Testing responsibilities include mechanical preparation and instrumentation, test execution, data collection, and post-test removal of test equipment and components. Candidates must be able to change shifts as needed for testing demands and lab coverage. Duties to include but not limited to: Performs daily foam pad testing. Performs daily H-Point and Static Load Deflection. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and calling for repairs. Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps. Completes projects by assisting the project team, attending, and participating in group and project meetings. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; and reading technical publications. Review work orders, vendor instructions, blueprints, models, and applicable specifications to determine the method of inspection, including first article requirements. Prepare inspection summary sheets/ methods and provide instructions for use. Assure requirements and instructions are followed by designated personnel. Train personnel as needed. Act as a technical and program representative with vendors, customers, management, and operating departments. Identify technical problems and quality cost issues and develop corrective action plans as needed. Work from customer specifications, drawings, models, sketches, engineering changes, tool drawings, and general instructions to plan and perform difficult inspections using coordinate measuring machines and other related equipment (FARO Arm and Laser Tracker). Create rejection records and monitor as needed. Must be able to plan and perform inspections on a variety of parts including but not limited to bondments, machine parts, in-service parts and assemblies, and aircraft. It may be required to develop inspection criteria with engineering or other departments or assist with the design of assembly fixtures and jigs. Works collaboratively and cross-functionally as needed to collect, analyze, interpret, and present quantitative information related to inspection results from laser tracker, CMM, or FARO Arm scanner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsible for developing and maintaining a periodic tool inspection database within Gage Tracker or Developing and maintaining inspection tools, designing and evaluating tools/fixtures/jigs to perform inspections across the business. Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with other departments to assist with planning, constructing, inspecting, altering, and repairing a wide variety of highly complex tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to extremely close tolerances (GD&T). Other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills and Work Experience:

Be willing to travel for training if required. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to work a fixed or rotating schedule. The employee generally works in a production/warehouse environment.
