Job Description
The Textile Carpet Inspector is responsible for rolling cove base, specialty rugs, and inspecting both while rolling into the desired size.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specialty Area Rugs:
Place a cardboard tube on top of the rug at the edge.
Pull the rug around the tube making sure it is tight and even.
Inspect the backing for quality defects.
Roll until the rug is completely rolled onto the tube without telescoping.
Glue a specific area of the yarn (where the sewer did not sew) using a glue gun.
Use masking tape, tear three strips and tape the rug on each end and in the middle to prevent unrolling.
Pull the label off the back of the rug and tape it on the outer edge of the tube.
Pick up the rug and toss into the buggy.
Eight to nine rugs to a layer.
Cove Base:
Roll the strip of carpet completely up ensuring no telescoping.
Inspect the backing for quality defect.
Place roll on a cart.
Continue until entire order is rolled and stacked.
Place paperwork with the cart and push the cart to the Sewer.
Maintain housekeepingComply with safety rules.
Comply with environmental regulations.
Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).Perform other duties as assigned.<
