Position Summary:

A leading manufacturer in the Shreveport area is seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to join their team. This role is critical to ensuring the compliance of products shipped to customers and materials used in the production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a commitment to quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret customer drawings to verify finished products. Prepare test pieces using saws, lathes, and/or milling machines for laboratory testing (tensile, charpy, chemistry, hardness). Conduct final inspections of finished products, ensuring dimensional and cosmetic specifications are met. Perform laboratory testing and ensure accurate reporting of results. Track test pieces through the facility to ensure timely completion of tests. Use Shoptech reporting system to process inspection orders. Operate UT meter for wall thickness measurements when needed. Conduct quarterly calibrations/verifications of measuring devices. Collaborate with production and other departments regarding quality-related issues.

Experience/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred; quality control experience a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills (MS Office and Google Sheets preferred). Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment. Excellent communication skills with peers and management. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Consistent, reliable attendance required.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in hot, dusty environments while wearing personal protective equipment.
