Job DescriptionAs a QC Inspector at John Crane, you will play a vital role in ensuring the precision and integrity of high-performance mechanical components. You’ll be responsible for performing dimensional inspections of parts throughout the manufacturing and repair process, using a variety of precision measurement tools and techniques to maintain product quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance with internal and external standards.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on a variety of machined parts under supervisor directionWork with tight dimensional tolerances, down to .0005″Read and interpret engineering and process drawings to check dimensions, surface finishes, angles, bores, threads, radii, and other critical featuresUse precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, and hardness testersOperate and understand basic programming of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and other programmable inspection toolsConduct material identification and conformance tests as neededPrepare inspected parts for shipment, including packaging and documentationFollow all company safety procedures and report any unsafe conditionsComplete accurate labor and time tracking reportsMay perform Nuclear-Aircraft-Government (NAG) inspections once internally certifiedProvide guidance and support to other inspectors as neededQualificationsMust have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational/ Technical Certification preferred.
Ability to understand and solve technical problems.
Ziess certification preferredMust have a basic understanding of computer operation, medium to advance mathematics, and SPC methodology.
Minimum two years of previous inspection related experience or subordinate work experience required.
