• time position based on 40 hours per week Monday
• Friday, 7:30AM
• 4:00PM Upon offer of employment, Candidate must pass pre-employment physical and drug test.

Random drug testing conducted throughout employment. General Duties Assist in the quality control functions. On the job training will be provided for all testing responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to: High pressure water testing of structural weld seams Vacuum testing of weld seams Liquid penetrant testing (dye check) Air and hydrostatic testing of tanks Document and track all quality inspections including paper documents Cleaning of vessel spaces

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

Ability to work in a team environment is essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to read blueprints and pay attention to details Capability of distinguishing good/bad/poor quality Applicant must be a self-motivator with a strong awareness of procedural compliance and data integrity. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills Able to use and read calipers, feeler gauges, pressure gauges with regulators, tape measures. Ability to identify and use basic hand and power tools including; box wrenches, ratchets, screw drivers, cordless drills, saws, chisels, hole punches. Basic math skills-addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions. Some knowledge of plumbing and electrical helpful for testing Knowledge of Aluminum, Steel and Stainless-Steel welding processes and inspection preferred but not required. Must be familiar with SAE and metric units. Previous shipyard experience or work in an industrial setting is a plus but not required.

Physical Demands:

Candidate must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to routinely lift, carry and transport equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs. Must be able to occasionally lift, pull, and push using force exceeding 75 lbs. Able to climb ladders unassisted with or without gear. Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and work aboard ships both in the shipyard and on the water. Ability to work under industrial conditions (see environmental attributes). Must be capable of working in enclosed and confined spaces for periods of up to three hours without break. Must be capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment, including respirators, and work in a noisy and physically demanding environment.
