Job Purpose:
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, Safe Quality Food (SQF) protocols, and product quality. This role provides technical support and resources to the Production and Sanitation teams on the assigned shift, while maintaining a strong focus on promoting food safety and process quality compliance. Key Responsibilities oof the Quality Technician Provide direct support to Production and Sanitation teams during the assigned shift. Monitor, verify, and document compliance with SOPs relating to product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards. Communicate and reinforce product safety and quality standards to all company personnel. Assist in coordinating quality and food safety-related activities, including process controls and testing. Conduct regular audits of sanitation processes and overall work quality. Ensure that all Quality Control (QC) instruments, such as water meters, scales, thermometers, metal detectors, and gas analyzers, are properly calibrated and up to date. Oversee key production systems, including sample plans, hold/release processes, code rotation, and other controls to identify and resolve potential issues. Lead microbiological, chemical, and sensory sampling of final products. Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the quality and safety objectives of the plant. Requirements of the Quality Technician Minimum of a High School Diploma, with strong Science and Math aptitude. Ability to assess situations effectively and develop practical solutions. Proficiency in computer skills is preferred. Quick learner with a strong understanding of food safety and microbiology. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent attendance record. Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
