Job Summary:
As the Quality technician you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products and services produced by Compotech. The Quality tech will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager to perform and coordinate inspections and determine quality testing models of raw materials and finished products. Perform re-work inspections to ensure product meets or exceeds quality and company expectations through final inspection of in-process, finished, and final assembled products. Inspecting and auditing all components and all stages of the manufacturing process. Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action concerns to the Quality Manager and Department Manager. Complete all necessary paperwork to verify compliance with specification and create / maintain accurate records of work performed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database Proposing improvements to the production process Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs Verifies calibration of equipment in accordance with established procedures based on ISO 9001, section 7.6. Operates lab / test equipment such as optical comparator, microscope, and autoclave, oven, calipers, and other standard and custom test equipment that is not overly complex, as applicable. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products Collecting and compiling statistical quality data Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans Determining the causes of product defects and reworks Documenting and reporting product or service quality levels Developing and implementing standards for inspection Developing a workflow for product inspection Developing plans to help a company manage waste Communicating with other team members to solve problems Notifies area supervisor promptly when nonconformities are identified and follow up to ensure nonconformities are remedied. Training other quality members on all inspection processes Order and maintain supplies as applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
The ability to consistently identify mistakes across thousands of inspections Must be detailed oriented with the ability to closely follow quality standards Familiarity with quality inspection equipment and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Minitab, eQMS databases).
Education and Experience:
An Associate degree in business or a related field is preferable. 2+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control. Good administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills. The ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines. Current knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality management system as well as industry trends and regulations. •
