We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically-inclined Lab Technician – Materials Testing to play a vital role on our materials teams. Job Summary The Lab Technician – Materials Testing will be responsible for conducting in-house material testing under the direction of our Materials Engineer in order to maintain quality, optimize and develop fabrication methods, and support new business opportunities. This role requires an inquisitive problem solver with strong attention to detail and organization skills. Be responsive and dedicated to customers, and ensure promises are met. Responsibilities Prepare material samples with utility knives and other cutters tools. Test and analyze belts, fabrications, raw materials, and components. Execute the testing program of incoming belt inspections. Interface with ERP (Dynamics F&O) to look up product and vendor information. Log test data using a computer. Assist in optimizing laboratory standards for testing, evaluation, and data logging. Requirements High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Basic math skills, required; simple addition and subtraction, understand decimals and fractions. Confident using computers, particularly with MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Teams). Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Able to read calipers, dials, gauges, scales, and other measuring devices. Must be inquisitive, a scientific and systematic thinker, a self-starter. Must be organized and have an eye for detail. Have the aptitude to learn to operate lab equipment correctly and safely. Ability to work independently and with limited supervision. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Comfortable working in both a manufacturing setting as well as a lab environment. Understand units of measure. Belting and Polymer knowledge not required. Benefits Competitive hourly wage ($20.00-$25.00/hour).
