Quality Technician Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Technician to join our food manufacturing team. This role is evenly split between laboratory-based Quality Control (QC) testing and on-floor Quality Assurance (QA) food safety activities. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet internal and regulatory standards for safety, quality, and consistency. Responsibilities Perform routine analytical and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Calibrate and maintain lab equipment in accordance with SOPs. Record and analyze test data, identifying trends or deviations from specifications. Support shelf-life studies and product stability testing. Maintain accurate and organized documentation for audits and traceability. Conduct GMP, sanitation, and food safety inspections on the production floor. Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and ensure compliance with HACCP plans. Investigate and document non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis. Provide real-time feedback to production teams to ensure quality standards are upheld. Participate in internal audits and support external regulatory inspections. Essential Skills Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing quality role preferred. Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of chemistry and biology. Experience with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance. Understanding of food safety inspection and compliance processes. Work Environment The work environment is split between laboratory and production floor environments. The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in both lab and production areas. Multiple shifts are available, and the C shift runs from 6:30 AM to 6:45 PM. Initial training will occur Monday through Friday on the first shift until August.
