Job Description
DescriptionOurQuality Technician is a key part of the organization, supporting teams across all business functions to ensure excellence and consistency. This role supports the development and implementation of systems, procedures, methods, and forms that reflect the organization’s quality management program. They operate as an internal resource and a technical quality expert. This role assists the quality manager to ensure overall product quality, reviews and resolves quality related complaints and occurrences, and works closely with all business leaders to ensure that solutions are implemented and maintained.
This position reports to the Quality Manager and is located at our manufacturing plant in Baldwyn, MS.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport and help contribute to the Quality Team goals, objectives, and initiativesResponsible for supporting process improvement initiatives and driving qualityProactively monitors and measures product output for daily quality metricsDevelops systematic approaches to product quality review, complaint/quality failure related review and revision, root cause analysis, and overall quality assuranceEstablishes along with regularly reviewing or revising quality specifications and standardsManage vendor relationships that provide quality supplies to the businessDocument approval, processing, and storage in accordance with ISO 9001Support internal processes to ensure Liberty Plastics’ successful certification or recertification of all customer- or regulatory-required designations to include ISO 9001, and AIBConduct quality training for applicable plant personnel to ensure an understanding of quality objectives, programs, plans and techniquesAudit and determine if prescribed processes are being followed, ensuring that employees and processes comply to quality standards set forth by ISO requirements.
Quality Control testing – collecting samples, performing tests, reviewing and comparing to specifications, documenting results, and communicating statusTracking and monitoring of measuring/testing equipmentOccasional travel to other sites or customers, along with occasional on-site presence during non-traditional business hoursOther duties, as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND
SKILLSHigh School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution or 5+ years manufacturing or comparable experience in place of educationHas a proven track record for document management, communication, and collaborationAbility to multitask and proactively accomplish goals and tasks with minimal directionPrevious experience working within an electronic quality management system, and ability to read a tape measure and some statistical understandingStrong organizational and planning skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSA
bachelor’s degree is preferred (i.e. Business/Operations Management, Engineering or related field)ISO training and/or auditor certificationExperience in the corrugated industry or similar high-volume manufacturingQuality experience in an ISO 9001 or 13485-compliant manufacturing organization a plusExperience managing customer interactions, gathering and relaying technical information a plusEffective business/technical written and verbal communication skillsRelationship management experience
COMPENSATION
& BENEFITSThe starting pay rate for this position is $20.97 – $26.21 hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay the above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
