We are currently hiring a Quality Technician for a well-established manufacturing company in the Swannanoa / East Asheville area. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll help make sure products and materials meet quality standards for both our company and customers. You’ll support quality inspections, investigate issues, and keep records accurate and up to date.
Your Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming materials and accept them into our system if they meet requirements Help resolve issues with materials by working with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing teams Assist in writing inspection procedures and work instructions Review supplier test reports or certifications for accuracy Investigate customer complaints and inspect returned products Calibrate inspection tools and test equipment Conduct internal ISO audits as needed Spot problems or defects in products during production Keep detailed inspection records and complete reports Help manage non-conforming materials and follow up on resolutions Support data collection and trend tracking Help organize quality-related documents and participate in continuous improvement efforts Maintain the company’s quality dashboard (SCORE Board)
What We’re Looking For:
Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to use inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and optical test equipment Familiarity with
ISO 9001
standards and quality system audits Knowledge of calibration, quality processes, and data collection is a big plus Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required): Experience with ISO audits Understanding of statistical analysis and data collection methods Familiarity with calibration or metrology practices

Working Conditions:
This position is based in a manufacturing environment and involves both hands-on inspection and computer-based work. You’ll need good eyesight to inspect products and work with detailed information on a computer. Clear hearing is important for phone communication with team members and management. The role requires manual dexterity to handle small fiber optic parts, tools, and precision instruments. You’ll spend a significant amount of time doing data entry and documentation on a computer.
