division is currently seeking a Quality Technician (Gear Lab) – Afternoon. The hourly rate for this position is $24.55 per hour. What you’ll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
To provide data and other necessary information needed within job assignment to establish confidence and documentation that the quality function is being performed adequately. Determine the conformance of product to specifications or other requirements.
Job assignment will typically include:
gear evaluations both in-process and final evaluation, gear master evaluations, data management, and verification of gear checkers. Operates appropriate inspection equipment for final inspection or for in process inspections, such as CNC gear checker equipment, C.M.M., gear inspection equipment verification/calibration, troubleshoots measurement methods, programs inspection equipment, and inspection equipment TPM. Inspects product/samples for quality acceptance using proper inspection procedures and maintains logs, SPC forms, and/or systems etc., as required. Must read and understand product specification requirements, such as part drawings, BOMs, spec sheets, process sheets, process drawings, control plans, PFMEAs, IPIRs, etc. Assists in machine runoffs, MSA studies, machine capability, new product launch (PPAP), gear masters evaluations. Ability to utilize interpersonal relation skills to effectively interact with employees and create positive work environment. Assists machine operators in troubleshooting problems using inspection results. Assists in problem solving and continual improvement activities as needed such as Scrap evaluation and control and Green/hard surveys. Poke yoke/Error Proofing validations and processes validations and audits as needed. Must have working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances to interpret blueprints for the inspection and calibration of various gages, checking fixtures, tooling, and in-process products using various C.N.C. checking centers, manual height stands, and trigonometric function and formulas. This may include designing holding fixtures for parts being inspected and C.M.M. gear inspection equipment. Must be able to communicate with purchasing agents and vendors on any material or gaging with any problems. Examples include gage suppliers/manufacturer, service representatives, initial sample inspection reports and ordering of new gages.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Micrometer reading / comprehension.
PreferredRequirements:
CS1/CS2 and other related Quality Control functions experience. Basic blueprint reading ability and GD&T course work is a plus. Minitab. Must be in good performance standing (no formal counseling).
Additional Information:
Position may include duties related other related Quality Control functions. Employees must be able to stand for 8-12 hours per day. Employees must be able to bend at the waste, twist, kneel on occasion. Employees must be willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift.
