SC WM Material Handler I – 1st Shift (Cooking)New Bern, NC/ Full-timeYour responsibilitiesThe Material Handler ensures the safe, efficient and accurate movement of ROH, HALB and FERT materials by utilizing the defined standards. Loads, unloads and moves materials within factory warehouse and manufacturing areas. The material handler supports production through distribution of materials by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product.

Safely operates tools and equipment, follows all rules regarding Personal Protective Equipment.

Conduct Start-Of Shift inspections of Mobile Equipment prior to shiftReport any unsafe condition found during the Start of Shift inspection to your supervisor immediatelyReport any property damage, near miss/incident involving or caused by use of PITs immediately to supervisorConduct inspections of required PPE prior to use i.e. Fall Protection

Meets unit quality and productivity metrics.

Follows written or oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.

Load and unload of all types of deliveries, making sure that each incoming delivery matches the company purchase order and Advanced Shipping Notification.

Sustaining continuous material movement to the different work areas in the facilities e.g. receiving inspection, supermarket and bulk staging.

Operates cyclic replenishment systems like milk run trains.

Interacts with external vendor on proper management of materials in JIT and VMI areas.

Conveys materials from storage to designated workstations, i.e. stocking, replenishment and commissioning of parts to designated areasLoads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, carts and shelves by hand without damaging ensuring quality of parts.

Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.

Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.

Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.

Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.

Put up of incoming product as well as pulling of parts from warehouse.

Work closely with the inventory group to monitor supply levels and submit purchasing recommendations on a regular basisCollaborate with the inventory control and purchasing groups to determine when product is missing in a delivery

  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.

Lift truck certification required.

Operates standard industrial lift truck, tuggers, electrical and manual pallet jacks, battery charges, and other forms of material handling equipment on the factory floor. Ability to operate very narrow aisle forklifts (Swing Mast).

Job Qualification Requirements:

High School diploma or GEDAbility to use packaged software on PC based computer system (data entry).Ability to comprehend on the job training.

Your Pay and BenefitsThe pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based onyourspecific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
