Education:
BS degree in the Biological Sciences or equivalent combination of education and industry experience Description The Quality Control Technician II will conduct standard laboratory tests and routine experiments in support of product release, equipment qualification/validation, process improvements, and other site initiatives. The role involves working with moderate independence on moderately complex assignments, where judgment and initiative are required. Interaction with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, sterilization, and external testing labs is expected.
Description of Scope of Work:
Environmental Monitoring:
Perform assessments of water, air, and surfaces to detect and control potential contamination.
Quality Control Testing:
Conduct TOC, Gram staining, growth promotion, particulate count, bioburden, sterility, endotoxin testing, cell-based assays, and other microbiology/chemistry tests. Ensure all testing complies with relevant specifications and timelines. Review data and complete investigations and corrective actions as needed.
Sample Management:
Manage sample tracking and documentation throughout the laboratory process.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and replenish laboratory supplies and reagents as required.
Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
Enter lab results and observations into data systems with accuracy and timeliness.
Laboratory Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and equipment through regular procedures, including autoclaving and glassware washing.
Validation/Qualifications:
Assist with assay validations, equipment qualifications, and special assignments.
Continuous Improvement:
Update and revise SOPs; identify workflow inefficiencies and suggest improvements. Coordinate laboratory testing and assignments. Support training of new personnel. Collaborate closely with supervisors to resolve technical issues and anticipate operational needs.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience in a GMP-regulated environment Strong microbiological and/or cell-based assay experience Good aseptic techniques and contamination prevention practices Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Knowledge of quality system regulations including:
ISO 9001, ISO 11137, ISO 13485, ISO 14644 21 CFR
Part 210/211, Part 820 cGMP/GLP and USP standards Ability to work independently and in teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent related education/experience
Qualifications:
