Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to conduct standard laboratorytests and routine experiments using well-established procedures,with some understanding of related principles. These tests maysupport product release, equipment qualification or validation,process improvements, product transfers, or other site initiatives.

The role includes preparing reports and recommending solutions totechnical problems as required. Assignments are moderately complexin nature, requiring judgment in resolving problems and makingroutine decisions. Standard work is conducted without supervision,while new assignments come with general instructions. This positioninteracts with all functional groups within manufacturing andsterilization, other CLS sites, vendors, and contract testlaboratories.

Description of Scope of Work EnvironmentalMonitoring:

Conduct routine assessments of water, air, and surfacequality to identify and mitigate potential contamination risks.

Quality Control Testing:

Perform specified testing of componentsand finished goods submitted to the laboratory for analysis in atimely manner following the required testing schedule. Review testdata to ensure results meet all specifications and input data (asapplicable). Conduct TOC, Gram staining, growth promotion,particulate count, bioburden, sterility, endotoxin testing,cell-based assays, and other biological and chemistry testing toverify compliance with quality standards. Complete investigationsand corrective actions as deemed necessary, focusing on completingtesting correctly the first time.

Sample Management:

Manage thesample distribution process, ensuring meticulous tracking anddocumentation throughout the process.

Inventory Management:

Overseethe inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, includingordering and restocking as necessary to support testing activities.

Data Entry and Record-Keeping:

Enter test results, observations,and laboratory activities into data management systems accuratelyand in a timely manner to maintain comprehensive records.

Laboratory Maintenance:

Maintain cleanliness and organization inlaboratory spaces through routine cleaning procedures, includingautoclaving and glassware washing.

Validation/Qualifications:

Perform assay validations, equipment qualifications, or specialassignments under general supervision. Implement and revisestandard operating procedures. Identify areas of workflow orprocedure inefficiencies and propose solutions to increaseefficiency. Work closely with the Laboratory Supervisor to reviewtechnical problems, suggest solutions, and anticipate majorproblems in key operations. Use discretion to direct workflow bycoordinating laboratory testing assignments and duties. Train newpersonnel as per established procedures. Perform other tasks asassigned.
