The North American HQ is in Mooresville, North Carolina and became a fully operational manufacturing facility in 2019. SHD Composite Materials Inc are manufacturers of advanced composite prepreg. Our core strength is the ability to supply high or low volume, with a wide range of tooling and component products throughout America, and around the world. Purpose and Person Specification The purpose of this role is to ensure that the compliance of all SHD materials is adhered to alongside AS9100 and ISO9001 standards ensuring SHD products and procedures meet safety and quality systems. You will be responsible for performing in-process inspection on our company products to ensure they meet the required company standards (AS9100) for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement. To ensure success as a quality inspector, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ultimately, a top-class quality inspector can efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products. Key Responsibilities Identify and record defects in manufactured materials during production through visual inspection Complete inspection reports suitable for customer use Ensure packaging and presentation meets SHD and customer standards Review daily production paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Monitor equipment and raw materials to help ensure best possible quality of manufactured goods Maintain familiarity with company standards and specifications supporting the maintenance of AS9100 practices across the business. An understanding of AS9100 would be beneficial. Perform inspections across all stages of production. Report quality anomalies to the production supervisor. Assist with laboratory testing on inhouse manufactured materials and externally supplied goods, to include DSC and viscosity Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency. Assist with Production specific tasks when necessary and not in conflict with Quality priorities Working in accordance with company Quality and Health & Safety procedures at all times To undertake and other duties from time to time as can be reasonable requested by the company. Skills and Ability High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of 2-5 years of inspection and/or production experience. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels for the organization and customers. Attention to detail with a strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts. Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret information. Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes. Must have flexibility and adaptability for changing workloads. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must have excellent organization and time-management skills. Must be quality minded. Must be able to use standard office equipment. Must be able to use manufacturing equipment of varying types. Must be able to use email professionally and frequently. Must possess the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure. Must be able to work independently, self-directed. Must be able to work with a team. Work Environment/Essential Physical Demands Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time. Must be able to work weekends and overtime if required. Must be able to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation and keyboarding as needed. Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 50lbs), and reach. Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to frequently push and pull items (up to 105 lbs) using lifting equipment. Ability to safely, effectively and reliability receive and give urgent and other essential communications in a factory environment. Must have good vision and auditory senses. Ability to detect abnormalities in the process and receive safety signals using visual, tactile, or auditory senses. Must have good vision and auditory senses.
