Job Description:
Oversee the safe and effective daily operation of all Asphalt Plant Quality Control Labs. Test asphalt mix in accordance with NCDOT specifications. Take action as needed to ensure project goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision and values of Barnhill Contracting Company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for testing Barnhill-produced asphalt mix at any of the company’s asphalt plants in accordance with NCDOT specifications
Oversee plant calibrations required by NCDOT specifications.
Provide detailed documentation to the Quality Control Lab Manager regarding test results to ensure mix is produced in accordance with NCDOT specifications.
Ensure Quality Control Lab and equipment is kept in excellent working condition and meets/exceeds all safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications & Training:
Must have QMS Level 1 certification.
Must have a valid NC Driver’s license.
At least one year’s experience in asphalt testing. Tasks Essential to
Job Functions:
The job requires the following motions: standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting.
Requires regular lifting of or in excess of 25 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Walking and standing may require a full day of 12 to 15 hours.
Will be exposed to sometimes extreme hot and cold temperatures in addition to working with frequent exposure to dirty and dusty conditions.
Job requires riding to and from work. If the driving of a company vehicle is required, then the guidelines of the company driver qualifications standards must be met.
