Position Overview
We’re actively seeking Quality Assurance Specialists to join our growing team. This contract-to-hire role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to major product change initiatives while gaining hands-on experience across a range of quality functions in a dynamic, fast-paced automotive manufacturing setting. This role requires a balance of technical quality tools knowledge and strong interpersonal communication. Ideal candidates will be confident on the production floor, capable of collaborating across departments, and eager to grow into future leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
Perform quality checks, audits, and root cause analysis to identify process gaps and quality improvement opportunities in sub-assembly processes.
Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, and production teams to resolve non-conforming materials and implement corrective actions.
Develop and update work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and other process documentation aligned with
IATF 16949
standards.
Prepare and maintain supplier scorecards and key performance indicators, including scrap tracking and return materials authorizations (RMAs).
Draft reports and summaries using Excel, SharePoint, and company ERP systems (Made2Manage).
Issue chargebacks (debits/credits) for supplier non-conformances and assist with inventory disposition.
Serve as a point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including occasional customer interactions.
Support auditing of production processes and participate in training/onboarding for ongoing product changes.
Take initiative to lead small projects and pull cross-functional teams together to support quality documentation and floor implementation.
Preferred Experience & Skills
2+ years in a Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Associate’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with core quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, 8D, etc.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with SharePoint and Made2Manage ERP is a plus.
Solid knowledge of IATF 16949, QS, or TS standards.
Experience working with metal and plastic components, including injection, blow, or die molding processes.
Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive, confident personality.
Work Environment
Office and production floor environment.
Must be able to walk the floor and lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
Visual attention to small parts required.
