Competitive, based on experience Job Summary Southeastern Behavioral Healthcare Services, LLC (SEBHS) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accreditation Coordinator to lead and oversee the agency’s Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) accreditation process. This role is pivotal in ensuring that SEBHS maintains compliance with CQL standards, particularly in the areas of Basic Assurances®, Shared Values, and Personal Outcome Measures®, to enhance the quality of care for individuals receiving mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services. The Accreditation Coordinator will be responsible for managing the entire accreditation lifecycle, including data collection, statistical analysis, compliance monitoring, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives. This position requires a deep understanding of accreditation standards and regulatory compliance, ensuring that SEBHS continues to uphold the highest level of service excellence while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. CQL, CARF
(Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) or The Joint Commission (JCO) is highly preferred. Candidates with direct experience in managing accreditation processes with one or more of these organizations will bring valuable insight into quality assurance, organizational compliance, and best practices in healthcare accreditation. The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize accreditation requirements into actionable strategies, facilitate internal audits, and work collaboratively with clinical, administrative, and compliance teams to implement sustainable improvements. The person in this role will need to be meticulous, proactive, and results-driven, with the ability to assess, refine, and enhance agency-wide quality assurance measures. They must also possess the ability to educate and train staff, ensuring that all levels of the organization understand and adhere to accreditation requirements. Data analysis and reporting will be a major component of this role, as accreditation compliance is largely dependent on accurate and well-documented performance metrics. This is a highly strategic and influential position that plays a critical role in advancing SEBHS’s mission to provide high-quality, person-centered care. The Accreditation Coordinator will work closely with executive leadership, clinical directors, quality assurance teams, human resources, and medical records departments to ensure that accreditation processes are seamlessly integrated into the agency’s daily operations. This individual will also serve as the primary liaison with CQL auditors, accreditation representatives, and external stakeholders, facilitating all necessary documentation, evidence, and reports to maintain and uphold SEBHS’s accreditation status. Key Responsibilities Accreditation & Compliance Management Oversee and coordinate the CQL accreditation process, ensuring all necessary documentation, audits, and reports are completed. Implement and monitor Basic Assurances®, Shared Values, and Personal Outcome Measures® (POMs) as core accreditation requirements. Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure full compliance with CQL quality standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CQL standards and best practices to continuously enhance service delivery. Serve as the primary accreditation liaison, preparing reports, submitting documentation, and coordinating site visits or audits with CQL representatives. Quality Assurance & Data Management Lead data collection, performance tracking, and statistical analysis related to accreditation and quality improvement efforts. Ensure Personal Outcome Measures® (POMs) are effectively integrated into agency practices and utilized for service enhancements. Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify areas needing corrective action or improvement. Develop and oversee performance metrics, benchmarking strategies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for accreditation success. Generate comprehensive reports on agency-wide performance, compliance status, and accreditation outcomes for leadership review. Policy Development & Staff Training Develop, refine, and implement agency-wide policies and procedures that align with CQL accreditation standards. Train and educate staff on accreditation requirements, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. Conduct workshops and informational sessions to ensure that all employees understand and uphold accreditation expectations. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure consistency in documentation, service delivery, and compliance tracking. Strategic Collaboration & Process Improvement Work closely with clinical directors, office managers, HR, QAQI, and medical records to align accreditation processes with daily operations. Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement long-term quality assurance strategies that promote service excellence. Facilitate interdepartmental communication and coordination to ensure seamless integration of accreditation requirements. Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging best practices in behavioral healthcare accreditation.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Administration, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accreditation, quality assurance, compliance, or performance improvement within a mental health, substance abuse, or developmental disability agency. Experience ensuring compliance with CQL is required. Previous work history or experience with CARF, JCO, or other accreditation bodies is highly preferred. Strong background in data analysis, performance measurement, and regulatory compliance. Direct experience facilitating audits, managing accreditation documentation, and leading compliance initiatives.
