Position Summary
Our newest factory, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Together, we create a brighter future for pets and our community. As a Quality Technician, you will be essential in maintaining our commitment to excellence. You will lead the factory in ensuring that all quality operations, including product integrity, net contents, and sensory programs, are effectively implemented. You will ensure that any non-conforming finished products are placed on quality hold to prevent shipment to customers. Your role will involve collaboration with the Production, Maintenance, and Product Safety teams. Together, we uphold our promise of quality and safety in every bag, container, tub, and can we produce. Interact extensively with the operations group and influence, coach, and train all other factory personnel with regard to QA requirements and expectations
Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of lab equipment including the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration
Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and factory objectives
Support the preparation for compliance audits by organizing documentation, conducting pre-audit checks, and ensuring that all quality standards and procedures are met and documented accurately.
Serve as the technical expert on factory processes and equipment, ensuring all quality operations, including product integrity, net contents, and sensory programs, are effectively implemented and maintained.
Supervise and ensure finished product specifications are maintained and updated as necessary Requirements HS Diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years’ work experience in Quality Assurance in manufacturing, lab, military, or related environment The approximate pay range for this position is $45,000 to $59,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
