Field Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to manage and supervise laboratory operations related to construction materials testing. This role involves overseeing testing, reporting, and quality control while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities Manage and supervise all laboratory operations including scheduling, testing, reporting, and quality control. Perform and oversee laboratory testing on construction materials such as soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete. Ensure all laboratory testing complies with applicable standards. Train and mentor lab technicians and junior staff. Review and approve test results, data reports, and documentation. Coordinate with field teams, clients, and project stakeholders to support ongoing construction and geotechnical projects. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and uphold health and safety standards. Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed. Essential Skills Inspection and materials testing. Quality control and quality inspection. Project management skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of experience in construction materials testing, focusing on asphalt, soil, and concrete. Previous lab management or project management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of industry standards and testing protocols. Certifications such as ACI, NICET, or state DOT certifications are highly preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory management software. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Work Environment The role involves working both in the field and office. A company vehicle is provided for fieldwork.
