The Quality Control Inspector has a broad responsibility to ensure the company quality goals and objectives are met or exceed and policies are enforced. This position inspects product throughout the plant and if defects are found handles in a professional manner. This level applies to all plant operations, DC Operations and Engineering operations – Tech center, process engineering, etc. This Position Reports to our Distribution Department
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Completes spreadsheet of manufacturing defects found and determines root causes. Assist engineering in monitoring defects and implementing corrective actions. Inspect manufactured parts for part compliance to prints, quality standards, and data sheets. Trains manufacturing personnel in measuring devices and proper part checking procedures. Assist engineering in repair and maintenance of weld and bend fixtures that are found out of compliance. QC check parts on product hold to determine disposition. Assist manufacturing personnel with QC procedures and practices. Sort defective product and assist engineering with disposition of product. Perform QC checks on DC inventory as requested by engineering and assists Coaches with all QC related issues. Audit inspection processes in manufacturing areas. Verify accuracy of parts in DC when requested by Customer Service/Tech Line. Inspect and document customer returns. Assist Engineering Department with any special projects when needed. Assume duties of Scrap Auditor when required. Train all new employees on quality procedures and expectations. Responsible for inspecting samples received from suppliers to approve/reject as approved source. Assist in creating part prints for Tech Center by using digital camera and computer software. Performs other task as outlined by immediate supervisor, commensurate with ability. Wear mandatory PPE equipment and dress safely for the job. Maintains good housekeeping of area. Ensures that all equipment is performing safely and report any unsafe conditions or quality concerns to Coach.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Able to acquire arts and skills necessary to perform job proficiently. Ability to follow instructions. Able to maintain good working relationship with others in department. Ability to meet predetermined sample schedules and be accurate in developing processes and samples. Able to read and interpret blueprints. Able to use Vanier calipers, micrometers, scales, and measuring tapes. Good computer skills using Microsoft Office. Able to troubleshoot manufacturing processes. Must be professional and have a good work ethic. Must be well organized and good on housekeeping. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Lifting up to 30 lbs. .
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) year of Quality Control experience.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL EFFORT
Working Environment & Physical Effort Must be able to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Will perform tasks requiring physical activity including lifting, walking, and standing.
