- Who you are:
- An ACI Level 1, Field testing technician and NETTCP Concrete technicianwith necessary certification.
Prior experience in the ready-mix andaggregates industry and familiarity with aggregate sizes and requiredquantities. Must be discreet and ethical, as position requires thehandling of confidential information. We are looking for someone who isa dependable team player, with exceptional communication skills, isadaptable, and an independent/decision maker.
- What you will be doing:
- QC Technician is responsible for implementing the QA/QC program forbatching, mixing and delivery of ready mixed concrete.
The purpose ofthe program is to produce concrete, which meets project specificationsand customer expectations. This is a skilled position requiringknowledge and skills requisite to perform a variety of quality controlsupport functions for ready mix operations. This position will reportdaily to the Quality Control Manager for assignments and specialduties.
Work will be performed per supervisors instruction, free fromdirect supervision except for more complicated jobs.

Job Responsibilities:
- Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance
- Perform QC tests for: Entrained air content, slump/workability, coarseness/sandiness, yield, setting time, water-cement ratio and strength
- Record and report test results to dispatch, batch personnel
- Use test results to make mix adjustments.“`{=html}<
- >“•Troubleshoot fresh/hardened concrete problems•Understand the batching system at all plants•Assisting in the performance of trial batches: For state approved mix designs and for special project mix designs•Transport test cylinders to the lab, log, strip and mark cylinders, break cylinders•Calibrate production and testing equipment•Maintain testing equipment, labs and lab equipment at all plants.
- Requirements of this position:
- An ACI Level 1, Field testing technician and NETTCP Concrete technician with necessary certification
- A valid driver’s license and must be insurable within the Companys tolerable insurable limits
- Must have above average computer and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, mathematical formulas) and ability to use a scientific calculator
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Capable of making quick and responsible decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Accuracy with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to lift/maneuver 75 lbs
- Must be able to safely climb ladders on ready-mix trucks
- Must be able to maneuver around uneven jobsites, sit, squat, walk, and carry items frequently throughout the workday. This position also requires extended periods of driving as necessary
- Available to work some flexible hours to include early start times, night pours and late day pours.
