Job Description:
This position is responsible for thorough inspection of molded parts produced. It requires the ability to determine if the parts produced are acceptable and meet quality specifications. This position is also responsible for running molding machines on occasion.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Work under the general direction of the department supervisor and/or group lead with a minimum of supervision following processes and procedures. Visually and dimensionally inspect products ensuring they meet established quality standards. This involves checking for defects like surface blemishes, incorrect dimensions or inconsistencies by working from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instruction, work orders, and process sheets. Record inspection results on appropriate forms and/or in MeasurLink. Report defective materials, scrap, quality problems, or any other unusual condition or circumstance to a technician and/or supervisor immediately. Maintain personal production and quality standards as determined by supervision. Operate injection molding machine occasionally. Fill machine hoppers and operate blending machine to be able to combine raw pellets together. Follow all safety regulations and maintain the area in a clean and orderly condition. Cross-train and work in other production areas. Perform similar and other related duties as instructed or required. Special knowledge, skills and abilities: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of one year inspection experience including knowledge of and ability to use measuring tools Must have reasonable dexterity in hands to manipulate small parts Ability to read blueprints and measuring tools such as: micrometers and calipers
Additional Characteristics:
This position works as both an individual contributor and in a team environment This position required the ability to lift 25-55 lbs. occasionally, 20-55 lbs frequently, 10-25lbs. This position may require standing and/or sitting for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours per day This position requires good manually dexterity and visual acuity
