JOB DESCRIPTION
About the job What’s the role? Summit Manufacturing Systems services, calibrates and move CMMs all across the country. As our Field Service Technician, you get to work with all types and brands of CMMs pushing you to learn new skills and technologies. Hexagon, including older models such as Brown & Sharp and Sheffield as well as Zeiss CMMS are the majority of our customer base. UCC server and Deva controller CMMs make us the rest.
Responsibilities:
Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate high tech machines at customer locations. Interact with customers demonstrating a high level of CMM knowledge Utilize a high level of mechanical and electronic aptitude to trouble shoot problems as they arise in the field Perform necessary administrative paperwork in a complete and accurate manner. (Service reports and calibration reports) Be Solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently in a high pressure, fast-paced and innovative environment. Travel requirement is 75-100%, domestically. Other duties as required. Do you qualify? Microsoft operating system knowledge is required. Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds. Able and willing to work long days with travel. Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment. Valid Driver License required. Excellent communication and customer service aptitude. Ability to manage a schedule, including travel and communicate with key stake holders Nice to haves: Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems. Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.
