Position Overview:
The Quality Supervisor will create and maintain a consistent and reliable quality management system and
ISO 9001
certification process while supervising a small team of QC technicians. This role will enhance the response to internal and external quality failures while also improving the root cause analysis and corrective actions process. The Quality Supervisor will improve the customer focus side of Eichenauer’s operations. This will be a hands-on position that has elements of QC technician duties and junior management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Review current Quality Management System (QMS) and assess for possible improvements. Maintain the current QMS system and ensure proper control and revision of quality documents. Maintain
ISO 9001
certification. Supervise Quality Technician(s) to ensure incoming (raw materials and supplies), in process (sub-assemblies) and finished goods meet all quality standards. Perform these tasks personally to backfill absences and for thorough understanding. Take appropriate containment and corrective actions when deviations or negative trends are found. Drive specific continuous improvement activities using Lean and other tools such as 5S. Perform periodic internal audits to ensure compliance and appropriateness of quality procedures, forms, work instructions and training aids. Ensure that the system is always audit ready. Work collaboratively with other departments, including maintenance, engineering, purchasing, customer service, sales, IT and production to drive teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or associate’s degree and equivalent experience.
Experience and Skills:
5 years in QC. Consideration will be given for manufacturing experience. Experience in performing quality control testing including micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, go-no-go gauges, electrical resistance, and visual quality checks. Mechanical print reading a plus. Experience documenting processes and training employees in a manufacturing setting. Experience with 5S and other CI methods. Experience with non-conformance tracking, RCA and CA. Understanding of document control, ISO 9001, management review, and goals and objectives. Experience, training, or demonstrated ability with leadership and management.
