Starting wage is based on experience and shift. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing!! Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay. Summary/Objective This position will provide primary support for part inspection, gage calibration and PPAP processing. This includes incoming inspection of supplier parts, shop floor production, engineering inspection requests, assist in inspection of gages due for calibration, incoming gage inspection and verification for PPAP part print requirements. This position requires that the inspector be knowledgeable in various gaging methods and equipment including smart scopes (Keyence, HDV etc), calipers, micrometers, height stands and plate inspection techniques. Essential Job Functions Effectively reads and understands blueprints, engineering documents, inspection and procedures. Able to work independently to verify the conformance of products received or produced for assembly are according to operation sheets, customer specifications, and drawings. Perform complete inspection of machined parts, manufactured internally or supplier purchased parts Utilize excel to record and communicate inspection information Inspection and calibration of incoming and in-service gages Complete hardness checks and operate all equipment necessary to perform these inspections. Quarantines and seeks management disposition of material not meeting design intent. First article, first piece, incoming, visual and final inspection of components in support of PPAP’s. Maintains accuracy and attention to detail at all times and completes tasks in a timely manner. Strong knowledge of dimensional and mechanical inspection processes and general inspection tools. Proficient in the use of shop math to calculate dimensions and evaluation of results. Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 5S initiatives. Generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas. Educational Job Requirements High School diploma or
GED. 3-5
years of lab experience or educational experience / CNC Metal manufacturing a plus. Working experience with geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Possess good organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Recent quality lab experience in the last 3 years a plus Ideal Candidate Profile Ability to gather and analyze measurement data and report to management. Communication proficiency with all levels of the organization. Demonstrate technical capacity, thoroughness, and good time management skills. Capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to collaboratively work well with entire team and provide support to all team members. Shares experiences with team and leadership through effective communication. Heat Treat background would be a plus. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite a plus (Excel and Word). Special Requirements Job involves lifting up to 30lbs and transporting larger loads of products over significant distances to inventory.
