Our client, a trusted leader in the industry, is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Inspector to join their innovative and collaborative team. In this role, you will ensure the quality of manufacturing processes and products through rigorous inspections and tests. The position demands a high level of expertise in quality systems, including CMM programming, QMS software management, and oversight of ERP quality modules. As a critical member of the team, you’ll identify nonconformities, conduct audits, and drive process improvements. Please note that this is not a medical lab inspector position; it focuses on inspecting and ensuring quality within a machine shop environment, handling fabricated components and mechanical assemblies. As our Lead Quality Assurance Inspector , you’ll ensure the quality of our manufacturing processes and products through rigorous inspections and tests. This role requires a high level of expertise in quality systems, including CMM programming , QMS software management , and ERP quality module oversight . You’ll also play a critical part in identifying nonconformities, conducting audits, and driving process improvements. Please note that this role is NOT a medical lab inspector-type position. Instead, it focuses on inspecting and ensuring quality within a machine shop environment, dealing with fabricated components and mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities Include:
CMM Programming & Inspection:

Program and operate CMM for precision inspections and ensure adherence to engineering specifications.

Quality System Management:

Oversee compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and GMPs while managing QMS software for CAPAs, NCPs, and inspection plans.

Production Audits:

Conduct QA audits, inspect assemblies, and document non-conformities with recommendations for corrective action.

ISO Audit Support:

Assist with

ISO 9001

2015 internal audits and become a certified auditor.

Training & Mentorship:

Train production operators and mentor QA inspectors to uphold our high-quality standards.

Documentation & Analysis:

Prepare detailed reports for audits and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Process Documentation Skills:

Create detailed work instructions and document the inspection process from start to finish, including identifying issues, providing solutions, and implementing preventive measures.

End-to-End Inspection Oversight:

Responsible for overseeing the inspection process from first inspection through final piece, including corrections as needed.

What You’ll Bring Experience:

5+ years in quality assurance with a focus on precision parts inspection. Proven CMM programming skills and advanced knowledge of quality inspection tools.

Skills:

Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills. Familiarity with manufacturing processes like milling, turning, grinding, and EDM. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Collaboration Across Departments:

Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with multiple teams, including Purchasing, Engineering, Assembly, and the Machine Shop (main point of contact).

Process Improvement Expertise:

Seeking a proactive individual who goes beyond simply following instructions. This role requires someone capable of designing and implementing innovative processes and workflows to enhance departmental efficiency, rather than relying solely on routine checkpoints.

Education:

Additional technical certifications are a plus. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Split time between an office and machine shop environment with exposure to loud noise, metal shavings, and cutting fluids.
