SUMMARY Our AS9100 and
ISO13485
certified electromechanical assembly facility has an immediate opening for a QA Inspector. The QA Inspector is responsible for inspection and documentation of incoming material as well as in process and final assembly inspection. Controls non-conforming materials for incoming parts and outgoing assemblies in the Buffalo location for Artaflex Inc.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspection and verification of incoming material, documenting results and ensuring compliance with purchase orders, AML database system and engineering drawings. Inspection includes glass lenses, plastic housings, PCB Boards, various small machined and moulded parts as well as prefabricated metal parts.
- Verifies suppliers’ packing documents such as Purchase Order Number, line, delivery or due date according to purchasing requirements and enters receipt information in Inventory Control Transactions.
- Counts quantity of shipment according to the packing slip and checks for damages and verifies any missing quantity of received shipment.
- Ability to use inspection and measurement tools, understanding of quality control procedures and experience with ERP systems or quality management systems.
- Separates and red tags rejected material.
- Investigates non-conforming materials reviewing the information regarding the defect with the Non-Conforming Material Rejection (NCMR) originator.
- Issues an NCMR to appropriate recipient according to procedures making recommendations to the Production Team for an appropriate disposition.
- Updates closed NCMR’s on the system and in physical binders.
- Assists manufacturing team by performing in process and final inspection on assemblies and documents defects and provides feedback to the manufacturing team.
- Performs first article inspection on new assemblies.
- Updates systems and maintains physical logs.

- Post-secondary school completion in an electronics or computer related field and a minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good knowledge of electronics components and production including industry technical standards (ISO, IPC), quality assurance guidelines.
- Good knowledge in manufacturing information systems including Windows, databases, specific software.
- Detailed experience with inspection techniques, tools, metrology and methodology.
- Ability to perform First Article Inspections.
- Good communication skills to deal effectively with immediate management, and co-workers/team members in own and other departments, as well as suppliers, engaging in routine exchanges of information such as verifying product information, and reviewing and discussing defect root causes.
- Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, photocopier, scanner, telephone, digital camera, calculator, etc which includes some repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and some hand/eye coordination.
- Works on assignments and resolves problems that may be complex in nature by analyzing/interpreting the situation/data and reviewing relevant factors to determine an appropriate solution, applying some judgment accordingly Our Salary ranges provided are dependent on the candidate’s level of experience.
