Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support our structural steel fabrication operations. This role is essential to maintaining our quality management system infrastructure and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards for bridge fabrication, metalizing, painting, and oil & gas projects. The QA Specialist focuses on process assurance, procedural development, and preventive quality measures. Essential Functions Quality System Management Maintain and support the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with

AISC, AWS

D1.1/D1.5, ASME, TSSA, and customer specifications Develop, revise, and issue quality procedures, work instructions, repair procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and weld maps Manage document control processes for drawing revisions, specifications, and quality records Conduct drawing reviews and interpret weld symbols and inspection requirements Project Coordination and Planning Facilitate pre-job planning sessions, QA reviews, and project kickoff meetings to establish clear quality requirements Coordinate with third-party inspectors as needed Monitor project documentation including material traceability, welder certifications, and WPS/PQR packages Prepare and review project quality documentation submittals, including fabrication DCRs, inspection plans, and final turnover packages Quality Improvement and Compliance Participate in internal quality audits and process improvement initiatives Support non-conformance tracking, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Maintain NCR and CAR logs, providing data for tracking and analysis Collaborate with QC personnel to review inspection results and identify trends to prevent systemic issues Generate repair procedures when non-conformances are identified Training and Development Coordinate training and qualification programs for quality procedures Manage procedural rollouts, revisions, and compliance training initiatives Support ongoing education and certification maintenance for quality standards Required Qualifications Education and Experience Associate’s degree or technical certification in Quality Management, Welding Technology, or Engineering Minimum of 3 years of quality assurance experience in fabrication or industrial fabrication environments Familiarity with quality management software and database systems Technical Knowledge Comprehensive understanding of industry standards:

AISC, AWS D1.1/D1.5, ASME

Section IX Basic knowledge in interpreting weld symbols and terminology Experience developing and/or maintaining quality procedures, repair procedures, inspection test plans, and weld documentation Knowledge of structural steel and coating shop environments, including welding, blasting, painting, and metalizing operations Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and document management capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills Collaborative approach with strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively in team environments and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting AISC-certified fabrication shops (Advanced Bridge, Fracture Critical, Complex Coatings) Knowledge of AWS, DOT, ASME, or international fabrication quality compliance requirements Working Conditions This position operates in an industrial fabrication environment. The role involves both office-based documentation work and shop floor activities. Standard safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements apply. Salary Range $25 – $31/hour non-exempt full-time position. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position.
