We are a well-established CNC machine shop in the NewYork Metro area, seeking a highly skilled CMM Programmer withexperience in the aerospace and defense industries. As part of our

ISO 9001

2000/AS9100 certified facility, the ideal candidate willhave hands-on experience with CMM programming, GD&T (GeometricDimensioning and Tolerancing), and First Article Test Reports. Thisrole involves programming, setting up, and operating CMMs forquality inspection of parts produced on CNC machines, ensuring thatall parts meet the exacting standards required for aerospace anddefense manufacturing. If you have at least 3 years of experiencein CMM programming and have worked with PC-DMIS software,calibration, and inspection processes for high-precisionindustries, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
    CMMProgramming & Setup:

    Program and operate CMM machines (usingPC-DMIS or similar software) to inspect parts and ensure compliancewith precise customer specifications. Perform calibration asrequired to maintain accuracy.

      Quality Control & Inspection:

      Conduct in-process and final inspections using CMM equipment,reviewing part specifications, and ensuring adherence to GD&Tand industry standards (including

      ASME 14.5/Y

      ).

        First ArticleTest Reports:

        Prepare and review First Article Test Reports (FATRs)to document that first-run parts meet all dimensional andtolerancing requirements.

          Blueprint Interpretation:

          Accuratelyread and interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&Tsymbols, ensuring that the final product aligns with customer andindustry standards.

            Problem-Solving:

            Anticipate and identifypotential issues during the programming phase or inspectionprocess, resolving them proactively to ensure minimal disruption toproduction schedules.

              Collaboration:

              Work closely withmachinists, toolmakers, operators, and quality control inspectorsto ensure consistent part quality and timely resolution of anyissues that arise during production.

                Documentation & Reporting:

                Maintain thorough documentation for all inspections, calibration,and test results to ensure compliance with internal procedures andcustomer requirements.

                  Process Improvement:

                  Propose and implementimprovements to inspection processes and workflows, leveraging yourtechnical expertise to enhance operational efficiency.

                  Requirements:
                    Experience:

                    Minimum of 3 years of experience as aCMM Programmer, with hands-on experience in programming andoperating CMMs using PC-DMIS or similar software.

                      IndustryExperience:

                      Background in the Aerospace or Defense industries, withfamiliarity in managing complex tolerances and stringent qualitycontrol standards.

                        Technical Expertise:

                        Strong understanding ofGD&T, specifically ASME 14.5/Y, and its application tomanufacturing processes. Ability to interpret and apply FirstArticle Test Reports.

                          Calibration Knowledge:

                          Experience incalibration of CMMs and other inspection equipment to maintainaccuracy and reliability.

                            Quality Standards:

                            Deep knowledge of

                            ISO 9001

                            2000/AS9100 quality management standards and the abilityto maintain compliance throughout the inspection and productionprocess.

                              Machinery Proficiency:

                              Experience with CNC Lathes, CNCMills, and other related equipment used in conjunction with CMMinspections.

                              High level of precision andattention to detail, ensuring that parts meet the most stringenttolerances and specifications.

                                Communication & Collaboration:

                                Strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functionalteams, providing clear documentation and feedback to team memberswhen necessary.

                                  Overtime Flexibility:

                                  Willingness to workovertime and Saturdays as required to meet production andinspection deadlines.

                                  Preferred Qualifications:
                                  • Experience incalibration and ensuring accuracy in complex CMM operations.
                                  • Previous work in high-precision industries such as Aerospace orDefense with a focus on compliance to industry standards.
                                  • Familiarity with late-model equipment from manufacturers like MoriSeiki, Fadal, Star, Flow, Amada, and Mitsubishi.
