MEPPI’s High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) is seeking a detail-oriented Inspector II to support quality control efforts across incoming materials and assembled components. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring MEPPI’s products meet precise specifications and high standards of safety and reliability. What You’ll Do:
Conduct Quality Inspections:
Perform inspection of incoming goods and sub-assemblies using measurement tools, gauges, and visual checks to ensure conformance to specifications.
Support Production & QA Teams:
Collaborate with sub-assembly technicians to resolve basic assembly and drawing interpretation issues. Assist QA Supplier Quality and the Inspection Supervisor in disposition of Material Review Reports (MRRs).
Interpret Technical Documentation:
Read and understand manufacturing procedures, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to validate compliance during inspections.
Inspect Field-Returned Equipment:
Document, investigate, and report on returned goods (RG/IG), and assist in evaluating vendor part certifications.
Train & Mentor:
Provide on-the-job support and training to team members. Assist with identification of unlabeled components and interpretation of production documentation.
Track and Resolve Issues:
Verify timely closure of MRRs, participate in investigations, and perform/coordinate repairs to ensure components meet quality standards. Test for
Gas Integrity:
Perform SF6 gas leak testing and evaluate gas quality using appropriate tools and protocols.
Promote Continuous Improvement:
Recommend enhancements to procedures and contribute to a professional, proactive QA team culture.
What You Bring:
Education:
High school diploma or trade school graduate required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Inspection, or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated skills.
Skills:
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Developed math and trigonometry knowledge. Basic computer and data entry skills. What’s in It for You?
