Senior Manager of Pharmacy Quality and Accreditation Purpose:
The Quality Specialist supports many types of quality projects for PANTHERx. This position works collaboratively with individuals across this company. This role performs quality audits, compiles metrics that will most effectively provide insight into performance trends, works collaboratively with others to identify clinical and/or process improvement opportunities, contributes to improvement efforts, and monitors the effectiveness of improvements.
Responsibilities:
Reviews and interprets accreditation standards and monitors internal action(s) based on the standards; accreditations may include specialty pharmacy, rare disease, home infusion therapy and/or DMEPOS. Supports the company’s internal preparation for accreditations; communicates with the surveyor(s); tracks progress and outstanding items; ensures that documents are submitted timely; coordinates interviews with staff members as needed. Reviews patient care documentation and conducts quality audits. Ensures completion of deviation reports; monitors progress and effectiveness of corrective action plans. Collects, validates, analyzes, and interprets quality data to determine quality performance trends and opportunities for clinical and/or process improvements to improve the overall quality of services provided. Supports internal quality improvement efforts as requested and proactively seeks quality improvement opportunities. Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that accreditation standards and quality program goals are met. Maintains knowledge of accreditation standards during the accreditation period. Supports the company’s internal preparation for quality and/or regulatory audits conducted by external third parties. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree. Minimum of two (2) years in a health care quality role supporting accreditations and/or other quality projects with demonstrated success. High degree of self-direction and ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Strong working knowledge of quality improvement and performance management concepts. Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that is clear, logical and consistent. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional manner. Ability to collect, analyze, review and interpret operational metrics. High degree of organization and follow through. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed to meet project deadlines. Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and other types of software applications. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other health care specialty. CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality).
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
