Responsibilities Full Time 2:30 pm – 11:45 pm

POSITION SUMMARY

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed, and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. The purpose of the Breaking operator is to monitor and remove any defective shell eggs found and also monitor the breaking machine for inedible egg. Customers and consumers benefit from the work done by the breaking operators by supplying them with high quality, liquid egg product.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Ensures regulatory compliance at all times. Have the ability to rotate between two (2) stations: a. Candler – removing all damaged or defective shell eggs according to USDA specifications. b. Breaking Machine Operator – removing inedible egg product by flipping a lever and diverting the inedible egg to a holding tank. Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Quality Certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

No prior experience or training. Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
