PRIMARY FUNCTION
: Perform physical, optical and environmental testing of raw material and finished products to appropriate Bellcore / ICEA documents and FOTP’s (Fiber Optic Test Procedures).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
: Performs optical, physical, mechanical, environmental and/or electrical testing of finished products for product release, safety compliance, and re- qualification of existing products. Generate documentation from data collected in material testing. Administration of disposition database and daily filing of dispositions. Generate daily, weekly, monthly reports from disposition database as required by engineering and quality functions. Assist with disposition data analysis using Microsoft Excel an Access per engineering and quality assurance requests. Administer document control procedures for all documents. Issue notifications of updates to documents, process changes, etc. as required by procedures. Perform periodic audits of controlled books and master files (hard and electronic copies) to ensure compliance with current documented procedures. Generate certificates of compliance an Optical Test Reports as needed for shipping or customers; provide support in Private Label OEM customer shipments. Perform final shipping audit as required. Perform receiving inspections of raw and in-process material and documenting results in SAP. Perform the receipt and initial processing of in-coming raw fiber. Must have or obtain company Forklift Operator Certification. Must cross train and function as a QA Inspector including all responsibilities as required of a QA Inspector. Assists of lead in developing and/or revising product test procedures according to applicable industry standards. Other tasks in Quality Engineering to meet the objectives of the organization including working hours that accommodate shipping hours.
REQUIREMENTS
: High school diploma Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment preferred. Previous work experience in an
ISO 9001 / TL 9000
quality system preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
