Quality Control Technician 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 700 Old Clemson Rd, Columbia, SC 29229 Position Summary The Quality Assurance Technician ensures effective utilization of inspection equipment and systems to assure the quality of all products and processes. Job Duties Performs inspection set-ups and methods as required to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. Performs audits to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. Uses programmable measuring systems such as, but not limited to, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), vision systems (ViciVision, Keyence, Smartscope, etc.), and MicroHites, to ensure compliance to requirements and standards. Communicates data analysis and inspection results to various Engineering/Management groups for further analysis/decisions. Assists the Supplier Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, and Quality Engineering Tech with various projects to ensure compliance with requirements, standards, and continuous improvement. Monitors and mentors operators in the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and data to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. Executes Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection plans and systems to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. Other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Experience Requirements One year of technical Quality experience in a manufacturing environment is required. No experience required with a technical Associates Degree or related technical certification. Skills and Competencies All employees are expected to demonstrate accountability, collaboration, communication, customer focus, and innovation. Additional requirements of this position include: Proficiency in math, print reading, and SPC. Demonstrated knowledge of simple/generic machining processes and possible secondary operations. Ability to understand complex assemblies and the function of individual components. Level I knowledge of basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to instruct operators on SPC and GD&T. Basic Product Quality knowledge and decision-making skills. Ability to collect data. Basic problem-solving skills. Basic presentation and customer service skills. Ability to participate at production boards. Ability to execute standard approach of Quality Plans.
