South Carolina General Responsibilities:
Perform construction quality assurance field tests, observation and inspection of soils, aggregates, piping systems, geosynthetic components, and erosion control products at solid waste disposal facilities. Compile sample testing and observation data to assist a Project Manager with construction record report submittals. Position requires extensive travel with assignments ranging from three months to over one year. Position routinely requires 50+ hours per week. Travel will predominantly be in the southeast on 4-6 week rotations.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Operates field testing equipment to perform standardized and sometimes complex field tests as directed and/or special inspections as required. Effectively communicate testing and inspection results. Transport material samples safely from the project site or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis, using a company-provided vehicle. Document and prepare sample testing and observation data using a laptop or tablet device to submit the findings accurately to the Project Manager. Assists the Project Manager with preparing the written construction record report submittals. Ensures that all testing equipment are properly calibrated and maintained. Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing the work. Reports any safety issues or concerns to management. Maintains quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of relevant landfill CQA experience. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar software. Experience with Nuclear Density Gauge operation. Successful completion of related safety and technical certifications. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Certification:
Geosynthetic Certification Institute – Inspectors Certification Program (GCI – ICP) for Geosynthetic and Compacted Clay Liner Materials Other national, regional, state, and local environmental related certifications requiring experience and written examination will also be considered.
