Clinton, TN Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Team Leader at Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quality-assurance tests using advanced equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines, 3D Scanners and CT Scanners. Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
Operating:
Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, ATOS 3D Scanners and Zeiss CT Scanner, Roundness Tester Form Trace, and Surface Trace, to perform accurate and precise measurements of automotive engine components.
Dimensional Inspection:
Utilize CMM and other equipment to conduct dimensional inspections of parts, ensuring adherence to product drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements. This includes fixture designs and setup on measuring equipment. 3
D Scanning:
Operate Keyence and/or ATOS 3D Scanners to capture detailed three- dimensional surface data of components to analyze and compare against CAD models or reference standards.
Computed Tomography Scanning:
Perform CT scans to inspect internal features, detect defects and ensure the integrity of complex engine components.
Interpretation of Product Drawings and GD&T:
Possess a strong ability to interpret product drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure accurate and thorough inspection processes.
Quality Assurance Testing:
Conduct a variety of quality assurance tests and inspections on automotive components, including dimensional checks, material analysis, surface finish evaluations and function testing. Must possess ability to interpret results and determine accuracy. Data analysis and
Reporting:
Analyze measurement data and inspection results using specialized software tools and prepare reports.
Documentation and Traceability:
Maintain detailed records of inspection activities, test results and quality control procedures for traceability and quality assurance purposes.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and improve manufacturing processes.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
Required Skills and Abilities Essential Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and techniques. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and measuring instruments for dimensional inspection, material testing and functional testing. Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests, recording data, and documenting findings. Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings and quality requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot quality issues effectively. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with quality management systems and standards is preferrable. Should have some knowledge of MSA (Measurement System Analysis) and statistical skip lots. Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Proven experience of 3-5 years working in quality control or quality assurance role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry. Education/Training/Certifications High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
